Gretchen Shay
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed in both Illinois and Alabama, with over 17 years of experience as a social worker and therapist. Throughout my career, I have helped clients navigate a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, addiction, co-dependency, family dynamics, and interventions. Additionally, I have extensive experience supporting individuals and their caregivers through various medical diagnoses, from the initial diagnosis to end-of-life care, including grief and loss therapy. My practice spans all age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
My therapy style is warm, interactive, and non-judgmental. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, steering clear of stigmatizing labels. My approach integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Rational-Emotive Therapy.
